Prior to his law enforcement career, Jim Broderick’s dedication to our country was made manifest while he served as a United States Air Force Special Operations Forces Pararescue Team Leader with the elite Combat Search and Rescue (PJ’s). During his time with AFSOC, Jim attained all qualifications of a Pararescue Operator to include graduation from the USAF Pararescue Specialist Course (Air Operations, Small Team Tactics Weapons and Planning, Combat Trauma Paramedic); the US Army Special Forces John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center Underwater Operations School as a Combat Diver (SCUBA) at Key West, FL; US Army Special Forces Freefall Parachutist (HALO, HAHO) at Fort Bragg, NC; USAF Basic and Advanced Land and Water Survival Schools, and the USAF Special Weapons and Tactics School. During his military career Jim was qualified as a Jump Master (Static Line and HALO operations), Dive Master, Boat Master, and Aerial Gunner.
As a Lieutenant with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Jim has served in many capacities with a wide range of
disciplines during his distinguished career of twenty-nine years. As the Chief Investigator for a prison in northern California, Jim managed a team of ten investigators responsible for all investigations assigned to the Investigative Services Unit related to the prison, its inmates and employees. Investigations into violent crimes to include murder, rape, conspiracy, gangs, narcotics possession and distribution, child abuse, cellular device interdiction and exploitation, and employee misconduct for the referral to the Office of Internal Affairs were all primary areas of his responsibility. Jim is an Interview / Interrogations Expert, a State Certified Hostage Negotiator with the Prison Crisis Response Team and has trained students in both disciplines as well as a Firearms Instructor / Range
Master, Prison Rape Elimination Master Instructor and Terrorism Liaison Officer. Jim is a DOJ Certified Cellular Device Examiner as well as a member of the California Gang Task Force (CGTF), California Narcotic Officers Association (CNOA) and the California Correctional Peace
Officer’s Association (CCPOA).
